Persons residing or employed in Halifax major agglomeration and within a 200-kilometre radius of Halifax major agglomeration, extending to, amongst others: Queensport, Havre-Boucher, Barrington, Church Point, Nova Scotia; Ellerslie, Fortune Bridge, Prince Edward Island; Bouctouche, Coles Island (Queens county), Saint John, New Brunswick.

Candidates from outside the federal Public Service will be required to pay for their own travel and relocation expenses.

Education

Useful Information
University degree in an acceptable specialization (such as political science or computer science) or combination of post-secondary education, training and experience in a related field.

Experience

Demonstrated experience in analysis of information and production of intelligence.
Experience in trend and pattern analysis within the marine environment for the provision of assessment of threat.
Experience in preparing reports and briefings for senior officials.
Experience in exploiting intelligence resources in both the private and public sectors.
Experience in inter-departmental committees, working groups and meetings.

Challenge

Represents Transport Canada within the regional Marine Security Operations Centre (MSOC) intelligence department providing detailed marine transportation security analysis and production of intelligence and specialized advice of the maritime environment in support of Transport Canada; the protection of Canadian sovereignty and security; and, in support of other Federal Departments maritime mandates in compliance with the National Security Policy.

Additional Requirements / Comments

Conditions of employment:
Level III (Top Secret) (Special Access)

Candidate must work shifts, overtime on short notice and be willing to perform stand-by duties on a 24/7 basis.

Shift work will be required.
