Analyst, Media Alert and Ops

The Threat Management Centre is seeking motivated, responsible and reliable individuals to serve as threat management analysts. The Threat Management Centre operates on a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week basis. Threat Management analysts are required to work shifts and could at times be expected to work alone on shift, ensuring for employees and others, a continuous and reliable alert service and point of contact to the Service. The Analyst is responsible to coordinate effective review / analysis of information and to coordinate an effective response pertinent to a special event and / or incident for the Service. Incumbents of these positions offer a high quality service to CSIS employees and to our partners in the intelligence community as well as to the public in both official languages.

Salary range: $51,050 - $63,800

Location: Ottawa, Ontario

Applicants must:

  • be a Canadian citizen
  • have an undergraduate degree and three(3) years related experience** or a three (3) years Community College certificate and four (4) years related experience**

Related experience: Possess a minimum of two (2) years experience in researching and analysis. A minimum of two (2) years experience in writing reports / briefs. Experience in providing service to the public.

Desirable experience: Experience with computer applications. Experience in working under pressure (e.g.a crisis centre) or experience with news media. Experience conducting research on the Internet.

  • undergo a stringent security clearance process

Furthermore, the ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical and research skills; excellent interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, ability to work reliably under pressure; ability to perform effectively in an autonomous fashion; ability to work effectively as a member of a team. Good knowledge of current affairs; Good knowledge of international geography; Good knowledge of national and international media (print, broadcast, electronic, internet); Knowledge of the demands of a shift work environment.
