OTTAWA -
Canada's spy agency is getting a new director.
Public Safety Minister Anne McLellan said on Saturday that Dale Neufeld
has been appointed acting director of the Canadian Security Intelligence
Service.
He'd been deputy director of operations of CSIS since April 2001.
Neufeld replaces Ward Elcock, who's been director of CSIS since 1994.
Elcock is completing his second five-year term, which is the maximum
period that a director may serve.
CSIS's Web site did not carry the news.
