The RCMP confirmed it "has received a complaint" from the Canadian Security Intelligence Service "relating to the disclosure of protected information" in the case of Adil Charkaoui of Montreal.

"It would be inappropriate to comment on what action may or may not be taken," added Sgt. Nathalie Deschenes, a spokesperson for the Mounties.  

On June 22, Charkaoui "categorically" denied a published allegation that he had discussed a terrorist conspiracy involving a 9/11-type attack in June 2000.  

The report cited a CSIS document to which Charkaoui has never been permitted access.
