Education

Graduation with a degree from a recognized university in social sciences or statistics, or an acceptable combination of post-secondary education, training and/or experience in a field directly relevant to the duties of the position.

Experience

*Intermediate experience in research, analysis and reporting of national security threats.

Experience in preparing presentations and providing briefings in a variety of settings.

*Intermediate: candidate has performed complex activities related to this task in a limited number of different situations.

Other Merit Criteria and Conditions of Employment

  • The following merit criteria may be required for this position. Applicants should indicate in their application if they meet these criteria.
    • Master's degree from a recognized university in social sciences or statistics.
    • *Significant experience in criminal or security intelligence analysis. *Significant: candidate has performed complex activities related to this task in a wide variety of situations.
    • Recent experience in researching, analyzing and synthesizing information for reconsideration by a review body.
    • Experience in working in an operational centre or function.
  • Top Secret (anticipated positions may require a Secret Security Clearance only).
  • Must be willing and able to work shifts and overtime on short notice and to perform stand-by duties on a 24/7 basis.

Additional Requirements / Comments

  • OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS : Possibility of secondment/interchange with other federal government departments within the National Capital Region, including intelligence agencies (that may require a polygraph and psychological evaluation).
  • A pool of qualified persons resulting from this process may be used to fill similar positions with linguistic profiles and/or requirements, as well as tenures, which may vary according to the position being staffed.
